It is a tool where you can teach using technology. It offers lesson plans that will help you to develop your class using other strategies for students and their parents to be part of the knowledge in an easier way. It increases the communication with students and parents.

Dokeos

It is an e-learning source used by multinational companies, government agencies and universities. In education, it has a mixture of instruction and social development where teacher can get the advantage of having a good environment between the teacher and the students, where they apply everything they saw in class in the platform.

WebQuests

It is a tool where students can investigate according the topic they are looking for. It shares a lot of sources where students can find very interesting and with fundaments. Also, teachers can find about pedagogy like: lesson plans, useful activities online.

Week 15

FLICKR

It is a tool where you can save, organize, find, share and sell photos and videos online. Also you can tag your photos and put a description of it. You can explore others people’s photos and comment about them.

Week 14

Mappy Friends

This tool is a platform where you can recommend some places based on maps to people you want to share with. Also you can discover, share, and look for places that your friends or contacts recommend.

Week 13

Wikispaces

It is a collaborative web site where people can create pages in an easily way and very fast. These pages contain organized information about a specific topic you want to discuss or do many activities with your groups or users. It is commonly called “wiki”

Week 12

Authorstream

Authorstream is a tool where people can upload and share their power point presentations with others online about any topic they want to explain. Also you can convert your slides of power point to videos where you can explain your presentation step by step recording your voice in your presentations.

Week 11

Podcasts

It is a digital media where you can find a lot of audio and video files about some topics of your interest. It offers many types of audios and videos according the different series, for example: sports, music, news,   technology, etc. You also can download the audio or video file you need to do your tasks. It is very useful for students who need a lot of listening exercises.

WEEK 10

Google Maps

                                                                 

It is a tool that is part of Google. There you can get instructions about a specific place around the world. It offers maps images that include a lot of images of the places you are looking for or you probably want to visit. It also offers routes of how you get the place in an explicitly way. With this tool you can create your own map to share with your friends a trip you did. 

WEEK 9

Twitter

Twitter is a social networking service that you can share any kind of information with everybody. Also you can make new friends and you can be in contact with people around the world. With this tool you can know what exactly people that interest you do and feel daily. 

WEEK 8

In this week we talked about a new topic “Web 2.0” that is related about the new tools that we apply in nowadays situations. According to the page http://www.maestrosdelweb.com/editorial/web2/ , Web 2.0 is a transition from traditional applications to web applications that is focused to the final user. It is related about producing collaboration from everybody to share information with others, where they can access and participate in any tool that web 2.0 offers. All of these changes have the only purpose to improve the users’ necessities. It offers better solutions and also shows more interesting things that can be easy to use without having a lot of preparation in technology. In conclusion, the evolution of web 2.0 increases each day to promote advances in our real world. In this way, We could explain some characteristics of each web 2.0 tools, and what it is used for. I choose this evidence because I think is necessary to learn the different tools that Internet provides in order to accomplish in the education. We have to give a purpose of these tools as productive for students, who specially surf on the Net.

Week 7

In this week we learned about how to present our PowerPoint presentations. It is very important to show our slides as professionals because they are reflecting our personality. It should be organized; they must not have a lot of information in one slide. They have to be presented in graphic organizers or with pictures. They do not have to present a lot of pictures. It distracts the auditory and instead of listening to you they will be interested in the pictures you put in your presentations. Also your explanation is very important, you have to present some key words in your slides and the rest will be explained by you in a concise and clear way. Be sure that your slides are clearly and easy to read. It will be very comfortable for people who are at the back of the class or speech you are developing.

Week 6




In this week we learned about a useful topic “Effective Use of Technology in the EFL Classroom”. That were involved some subtopics like: The Internet as a teaching & learning tool, Web sites for the EFL classroom, Bookmarking web sites and Nicenet which we can use in a future because nowadays we are in a world that everything is changing and we have to be prepared specially in technology and how to use it in education that can be very important for us as future teachers. 
Internet is a wonderful tool that we can find many resources about how to teach a language. Also with this media we can interact with other people, so we can share our ideas and wonders that we have. We can find many different pages: social pages, news pages, educational pages, etc like: http://www.breakingnewsenglish.com/index.html,http://www.mes-english.com/flashcards.php, http://www.edmodo.com/. And we should not forget a very useful source "Blooger" http://www.blogger.com that we can write reflections about any important topic we learn in a class, so we can remember what we learned during the years.

Week 5

In this week we learn about ICT in education. According to UNESCO, ICT is very essential to educate people. I think this web page is very useful and important for us, because as UNESCO applies, ICT is a way to be updated in technology. Also, it can help us to show our quality of education in a very meaningful way. However, is very important to analyze that this web page is seen around the world, so many people can share many things and enjoy having this wonderful tool. The most interesting thing that I can emphazise is that the education is developed essentially for minorities and to have the equity in women and men, so education can involve every single person. We are in a world of changes and many people make of their days as a challenge. Many people prepare themselves to change their minds and develop our education to be better each day; in this way we realize that this web page as teachers can develop our critical thinking and develop our way to teach according to students' necessities. Also, we review more about DIIGO were we have to put 30 educative pages in there. There was an oral lesson about it. Then, our teacher gave us a very useful web page to develop our listening skill http://esl-lab.com/ where we can have many advantages for beginners elementary and advaced English where we can develop our four skills at the same time. It helps us to memorize things by infering and understand any topic we listen to.

Week 4

In this week we learnt about a new program that is called DIIGO http://www.diigo.com/ . This program is a bookmarking account. It helps to organize by creating lists of different kinds of sections and we can add more web pages about the section we have. We started using this web site because it helps us to be in contact with technology. In our first activity we have to share in a group to discuss about a very useful page called "ICT in Education" http://www.unesco.org/new/en/unesco/themes/icts  where we have to do a summary and added as a comment in Diigo. This web page is very useful and important for us, because as UNESCO applies, ICT is a way to be updated in technology. Also, it can help us to show our quality of education in a very meaningful way. However, is very important to analyze that this web page is seen around the world, so many people can share many things and enjoy having this wonderful tool. Week 3

    In this week I learnt many things about the principal topic "Plagiarism" that was a topic that we carried since the last semester because our teacher always tell us about it. I didn't know much about this, but in this semester I could realize that plagiarism is a very serious problem. In the forum we did, the teacher gave us many interesting   web pages to research this problem: http://www.pvc.maricopa.edu/researchhelp/plagiarism.html, http://www.plagiarism.org/, http://www.una.edu/library/help/plagiarism-students.html that were very useful because I can understand well the topic and how to avoid it.Plagiarism is to steal other author’s opinions, ideas, and definitions without citing his/her name. Plagiarism is very common because for students is very easy to copy and paste even without reading it, so they are not conscious about they are doing, they just do that because they think that in this way they do not make mistakes and the teacher puts them a good grade, but they are not growing with a criteria and they are not apporting with the society. It is very important to know because we can do a better job and I could use it in a future because I believe that by doing the things right, like: writing my own opinions and deducting what other author's saying can help me to develop my critical thinking and that`s good because I can create my own ideas by understanding the topic.

 

Week 1

In the first class we learn the basic rules into the classroom. The module introductions were very clear so, we can know what we have to do during this semester. The results will be positive because it is an organized way to be responsible with ourselves. Also, we are going to use new internet sources as a way to send homework to give lessons and to read interesting things that can increase our knowledges about technology and exploring it in a good way.

In the second class we start to work in pairs and we know a new topic about evaluating web pages. We made some feedback about this topic. When we usually do research, what kind of pages I look for? They are reliable ones?. With this little introduction, we read an article related to the topic and we have to analyze every single topic to understand many interesting things about good web pages and the fake ones. It helps us to have a good information with evidence, so we can do research without complains and doubts.

 

Week 2

This week was very interesting for me because I could learn how to use a web page that is very useful for everyone. First, we knew how to use the "aula virtual" and how to enter in this web page from the university. First, we have to put the password and everything that is required in this page like: our picture and say something about your personality. It is very important to know about the "aula virtual" because it helps us to be in contact with technology and add our homework in an organized way. Also, the teacher asked us to upload our assigment about the URL work. Also, she talked about the forum we have to do. She explained us about the teams we have to share and the comments we have to write. We had to discuss about the homework the teacher asked us to do, then we have to comment according a rubric the teacher gave us. A forum is very important because in this way we can share ideas with other partners and enrich our knowledges. Also, we can share some doubts about this topic and our partners discuss the topic with you. Then, the teacher told us to share our blogs with other classmates and we have to put in the "aula virtual". In adition, the teacher explained us about the digital portfolio we have to do with a very useful rubric that we saw on the Net. However, it is very useful to know all these thing because in a future we can know how to do a good research and how to organize our tasks in a different way. For me it is very important because, it helps to the environment and we just put our assigments on the "aula virtual" in stead of printing them.
